The Mary Ann Township Junior Firefighter Program

 To take an initiative to introduce young people aged 14–18, to the world of firefighting and emergency services.

Purpose and Goals
Education and Experience: Teach young people about fire safety, emergency response, and the basics of firefighting and EMS.
Skill Development: Develop valuable life skills like leadership, teamwork, discipline, and responsibility.
Career Exploration: Expose participants to potential careers in firefighting or emergency services.

Who Can Join?
Usually designed for teenagers (14–18 years old).
Participants often need parental consent and must meet basic requirements (e.g., academic standing, physical ability).

Activities and Training
Junior firefighters do not engage in hazardous or interior firefighting but can participate in:
Basic Training: Introduction to fire equipment, hose handling, ladders, first aid, CPR and EMS experience.
Fire Safety Education: Learn fire prevention, home safety, and emergency preparedness.
Community Service: Help with public education events, fundraisers, and fire prevention programs.
Support Roles: Assist with non-emergency tasks at the fire station (cleaning equipment, helping with drills).
